8.00 (good) Very cute storyline and cute characters... however, a little too "kiddy" at times (ages 3+) This would be a great anime to show my kids someday-- if you want to start a child on anime at an early age, this would be one of the anime to show them. And it always makes me crave waffles. XD

8.00 (good) Holy sh--. This series was pretty good. Beware... creepy dolls abound. Interesting storyline that kept me guessing who the dead person was until the very end.

7.75 (good) I watched this anime because I loved the manga. This is a decent adaptation, except that they cut out my favorite character Shuro! Her role in the series is relegated to like a 5 minute chunk towards the end of the series. Granted they had to cut a lot of stuff out in order to fit the anime series into one season, but I feel that in doing so a lot of what made me love the manga was lost.

8.50 (very good) This series is always great for a laugh... my go-to feel-good anime! I watched the first episode at 3 am and it was the funniest most random thing ever! Great slice of life, kooky, comedy. Each character has her own unique personality and they all work well together somehow. There are some great AMVs out there for this series!

9.25 (very good) Wow! Very bloody, but loved all the characters and storyline. If you're planning to watch this series, don't let the first episode dissuade you. It's very confusing, but necessary to tie the whole series together. Reading the wiki entry on the series it seems like there is more to the story... I wish the anime were longer! Great OST-- especially the opening theme "Guns and Roses".

9.75 (excellent) Who would have thought a manga ABOUT writing manga could be so engaging? I was drawn to it by the beautiful artwork I saw in scans here, and later found out it was the same mangaka as Death Note. (Knew something felt familiar!) It can feel a little bit redundant at times, but I think the mangaka does a fine job of keeping the storyline fresh. I have a whole new appreciation for mangaka after reading about the various steps/situations they go through. ^_^

8.00 (good) another refreshing anime in the world of cutesy fluff. good character development, original story- tho it lagged in some spots

8.50 (very good) I thought that this series showed great promise. It has some great interaction between characters, a decent storyline, beautiful artwork, but I wasn't a big fan of the ending. It got a little too weird and almost like... mecha-ish. I wish they had spent a little more time on the Chronos Numbers as Jenos Hazard was one of my favorite characters.

8.00 (good) Action-packed series that starts off strong. A few arcs feel a bit forced, but the end justifies the means-- arcs are necessary for later arcs (character development, or just the addition of characters). Looking forward to seeing the (sure to be) epic conclusion!

8.50 (very good) I love the artwork, the character development, and the ending was perfect! This series has one of the best OSTs-- it was written by Mark Mancina and produced by Hans Zimmer, one of my all time favorite composers. The manga on the other hand, not so much a fan of.

8.50 (very good) Checked this one out because it's by the same mangaka as Rurouni Kenshin. I would describe this series as Bleach with alchemy. Very interesting (and unique!) characters and storyline. Wish they'd included some more of the secondary characters a bit more, but overall a satisfying ending. (And Pappi!)

6.50 (above average) Eh, not really my type of anime... the storyline was okay, but not one of my favorites. The two main characters were really annoying... Kotoko was actually my favorite character in this series. As a whole, i think this anime is HIGHLY overrated.

8.50 (very good) Great character design and development. I like how different it is from other traditional anime. It's refreshing, like Samurai Champloo. My only criticism would be the "wtf" factor on some of the episodes. (Mushrooms anyone?)

7.75 (good) Allen reminds me of Ed from Fullmetal Alchemist. I absolutely love Lavi~~ I liked the series, but gave up after it started doing fillers. I am still following the manga, but the scanlations are really delayed.

7.75 (good) Really interesting premise. Wondering about Ganta's branch of sin/what will happen with Shiro-- As with most manga I follow, hot guy in this one is definitely Senji (aka: Crow)

7.00 (above average) Interesting plot. However, it hints at things early on but doesn't explain them til later, which can get frustrating.

DURARARA!!

Last Updated: Apr 06, 2011

8.50 (very good) Made by the same group that did Baccano!, Durarara! is all kinds of fun! Each character has their own strong points, but my favorite character is Shizuo. I also really enjoyed the "romance" between Celty and Shinra. I am looking forward to seeing if the second season will surpass the first season. Also, a pleasant surprise was the inside jokes and cameos from Baccano characters! Issac x Miria <3~~~

8.00 (good) Not quite sure if Teacher/Student relationships are so common in Japan, but I really like this story. Teppei is adorable, and I'm interested to see how the relationship between Fumino and Kazuma progresses. ^_^

Last Updated: Apr 06, 2011

8.75 (very good) This is a nice anime on it's own, but I wish that they had followed the manga storyline more closely! I feel that the anime was very light-hearted and kind of glossed over the whole reason why Akito acted in the way they did. The manga storyline get darker as the series progresses and also introduces more characters into the mix. (besides the family) I definitely feel that the romance in the manga was more rewarding than the implied romance in the anime.

Fullmetal Alchemist

8.75 (very good) Great storyline, but the first season was different from the manga. Despite this, I thought that in itself the first season had a very satisfying and poignant conclusion. Loved that they re-did the series with Brotherhood as Ling, Lan Fan, and Mei were some of my favorite characters from the manga!

Fushigi Yuugi

Last Updated: Apr 07, 2011

7.75 (good) For an intro anime, this one is a gem. The storyline for the series was good, however about half of each episode is taken up by recapping the previous episode. This can get frustrating and I found myself fast forwarding a lot. Love Tasuki and Chichiri the most. Also watched the OVAs, but the storylines for those were much too rushed

Gantz

Last Updated: Jun 27, 2013

7.75 (good) SO MANY NAKED BODIES. >.< But the storyline is really interesting for the first 2 story arcs. It kind of reminds me of Psyren in some respects, but with more realistic artwork and plot points. I'll reiterate again... there is a lot of un-censored nudity.

GE: Good Ending

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jun 27, 2013

7.00 (above average) First part of the story was fantastic. Should've ended there. Then they just kept dragging things out... adding in all the cliche obstacles, making sure all the friends ended up in couples, and combined with one crazy obsessive ex boyfriend. I actually ended up more interested in the couplings with the friends than the main characters... that's never a good sign, which is why I had to drop the score.

8.50 (very good) MANGA ONLY: Love, LOVE, love this series and wish Tokyopop hadn't lost the license for it so I could own the complete manga collection. As it was, I had to end up reading the last few volumes online. Debated about printing out the scanlations so I'd have a complete set, but haven't done it yet. The characters drew me in, stuck around for the storyline-- and hoped and hoped for the pairings I liked to end up together.

Ghost Hunt

Last Updated: Apr 06, 2011

9.00 (very good) Gets off to a slow start, but really takes off afterwards. My favorite "files" would be "The Bloody Labyrinth" and "Silent Christmas". Not recommended to be watched alone and/or late at night. This is another series in which the anime does not cover the entirety of the novels. This series would greatly benefit from a second season.

Gintama

Seen: partially

7.75 (good) Gintoki is an awesome character, though the plot seems somewhat odd and random. I wonder if there will be an actual plotline at some point? In the meantime, yay for crack anime!

Gokinjo Monogatari

Last Updated: Apr 07, 2011

8.00 (good) Since it's such an old series, the artwork seems outdated. But it's Ai Yazawa, so the storyline is going to be good. I really enjoyed the series because it wasn't as fashion oriented as Paradise Kiss and I was able to identify with Ayumi's character. I think it's kind of cool that it's the precursor to Paradise Kiss too. ^_^

8.75 (very good) I love this one-volume manga! I only wish the novel weren't out of print so I could read the text from which the manga came. Some of the images in it can be disturbing, so it's not for the faint of heart.

Great Teacher Onizuka

8.00 (good) Manga: Good, but a little too explicit with illustrations of pervertedness.
Anime: Same as manga
Jdrama: 10+! My #1 favorite of all time! Every episode made me cry... and the acting (while sometimes over the top) really fit with the feel of the series. I do wish that they'd included Urumi and some of the other characters from the manga, but overall a great adaptation.

Gyo

Seen: completely; Own: completely;

Last Updated: Dec 28, 2011

7.00 (above average) I really loved the first manga by Junji Ito (Uzumaki), so Gyo was somewhat of a let-down. It's only 2 volumes (and apparently is going to have an anime~~), but it could have been fleshed out so much more. The ending was really open-ended... and not much of an ending at that.

Haibane Renmei

8.00 (good) I thought this was a really nice series but a little fast paced. There were some things that I wish had been elaborated on. Kind of an existential kind of series... But I love the OST for this series. Some really nice harpsichord and strings pieces that help to enhance scenes in the anime.

7.50 (good) Another one where I've only seen the Jdrama, but I have read the manga. A very cute/sweet storyline! As far as the jdrama, Oguri Shun as Rui was genius. He captured the kind of cool, detached demeanor perfectly. I also think that MatsuJun was an excellent choice for Tsukasa.

6.00 (average) Bishies! What more can I say. If you're looking for an anime with an amazingly touching storyline, this is NOT a series for you. It's based on a dating sim game so the characters aren't too fleshed out (which was a downside since they were all supercute! XD)

Hetalia: Axis Powers

8.25 (good) Love this show! It's so crack-tastic and (somewhat) informative! Italy makes me want to pinch his cheeks... Love the overall concept. I do wonder about the longevity of the anime as the antics can get a little annoying after awhile. I can see that this totally works as a comic though.

Honey and Clover

8.50 (very good) Characters were very relatable. Hagu was kind of annoying, but I really identified with Ayumi and her situation with Mayama and Nomiya. I love SPITZ, which was a big draw for me to continue watching this series-- their music just really paired nicely with the scenes in the anime.

8.25 (good) Started reading this because I fell in love with the scans being submitted to the gallery. So in love with the characters! Miyamura is LOVE! Disappointed in the artwork for the anime though... It looks terribly cheap!
