7.75 (good) | I watched this anime because I loved the manga. This is a decent adaptation, except that they cut out my favorite character Shuro! Her role in the series is relegated to like a 5 minute chunk towards the end of the series. Granted they had to cut a lot of stuff out in order to fit the anime series into one season, but I feel that in doing so a lot of what made me love the manga was lost. | ||

Great slice of life, kooky, comedy. Each character has her own unique personality and they all work well together somehow. There are some great AMVs out there for this series! | ||

9.25 (very good) | Wow! Very bloody, but loved all the characters and storyline. If you're planning to watch this series, don't let the first episode dissuade you. It's very confusing, but necessary to tie the whole series together. Reading the wiki entry on the series it seems like there is more to the story... I wish the anime were longer! Great OST-- especially the opening theme "Guns and Roses". | ||

9.75 (excellent) | Who would have thought a manga ABOUT writing manga could be so engaging? I was drawn to it by the beautiful artwork I saw in scans here, and later found out it was the same mangaka as Death Note. (Knew something felt familiar!) It can feel a little bit redundant at times, but I think the mangaka does a fine job of keeping the storyline fresh. I have a whole new appreciation for mangaka after reading about the various steps/situations they go through. ^_^ | ||

It got a little too weird and almost like... mecha-ish. I wish they had spent a little more time on the Chronos Numbers as Jenos Hazard was one of my favorite characters. | ||

Very interesting (and unique!) characters and storyline. Wish they'd included some more of the secondary characters a bit more, but overall a satisfying ending. (And Pappi!) | ||

I also really enjoyed the "romance" between Celty and Shinra. I am looking forward to seeing if the second season will surpass the first season. I feel that the anime was very light-hearted and kind of glossed over the whole reason why Akito acted in the way they did. The manga storyline get darker as the series progresses and also introduces more characters into the mix. (besides the family) I definitely feel that the romance in the manga was more rewarding than the implied romance in the anime. | ||

This can get frustrating and I found myself fast forwarding a lot. Love Tasuki and Chichiri the most. Also watched the OVAs, but the storylines for those were much too rushed | ||

Then they just kept dragging things out... adding in all the cliche obstacles, making sure all the friends ended up in couples, and combined with one crazy obsessive ex boyfriend. I actually ended up more interested in the couplings with the friends than the main characters... that's never a good sign, which is why I had to drop the score. | ||

I really enjoyed the series because it wasn't as fashion oriented as Paradise Kiss and I was able to identify with Ayumi's character. I think it's kind of cool that it's the precursor to Paradise Kiss too. ^_^ | ||

Manga: Good, but a little too explicit with illustrations of pervertedness. Anime: Same as manga Jdrama: 10+! My #1 favorite of all time! Every episode made me cry... and the acting (while sometimes over the top) really fit with the feel of the series. I do wish that they'd included Urumi and some of the other characters from the manga, but overall a great adaptation. | ||
