Oh my goodness... please don't bump threads that are over 4 weeks old! ^_^' If you want to continue this discussion you can create a new thread. (But also keep in mind that it would help to state the name of the anime you will be discussing)

f

The number of credits you receive for the different forms of participation are not known so that the system cannot be abused. Also, please remember to search before creating new threads! This question has been asked/answered multiple times.

Helpful for more information:
Policy
Userguide to Minitoyko 3: credits, browsing, groups and more

f

I got that one once yesterday on Firefox. However, after running an actual Virus Scan and upon subsequent visits, I haven't gotten the pop-up again...

f

Please don't bump threads older than 4 weeks. For something that old a new thread can be created. CLOSED.

f

CLOSED per request

f

@Odaril: Either works, you can either submit it to MT first then PM the link, or host it on a third party site and PM the link to MapleRose.

@darkchiichan17: Yes, the limit for submissions is 2.

f

Hello minna-san! Well, going by the poll from the last display, looks like we've got enough interest to make this contest a reality!

YOUR MISSION: To draw your own character/favorite character on summer vacation They can either be doing something summery (eating a Popsicle or swimming) or be someplace on vacation. The only requirement is that submissions must be recognizable as summertime doujinshi. The limit is 2 entries per member. :)

DEADLINE: August 1st (But, negotiable based on how many submissions we get before then)

Please send entries via PM to MapleRose with "Summer contest" as the subject heading.

One thing that would help in recommendations is what kinds of manga you like to read. From what you've listed it seems like you like all kinds... but are there any genres that you particularly gravitate towards?

f

Actually, to be fair, ALL of your pieces were not deleted. I believe only 3 or 4 of them were, which is not even half of your total gallery. Also, if you read the Moderator comments at the END of the PMs you received you would have known that the pieces that were deleted were all different stages of your finished work: Completed devSM-Photography by kngo4

As stated in the MT Policy, variations of the same work are not allowed in the gallery. If you wanted to show the progress of your piece, you could have uploaded those "in progress" works to a third party hosting site and included the links/thumbs in the description for the final piece.

f

Like Kira already stated, it would help other members IMMENSELY, if you would edit your initial post to include the anime that these characters are from. Also, keep in mind that the title of your thread may lead to one response answers, which may warrant the closing of your thread.

f

Please use the report feature on the image page to report corrupted files rather than creating a forum thread on it. CLOSED.

f

Time to vote, time to vote!

You've got a week starting from today- so until next Saturday. Remember, please send me your PM with one vote for colored and one for monochrome.

ALSO! Vote in the poll! :D

AND! The next display is now open for entries... so send those to MapleRose! ;)

f

Forum threads are a place to foster discussion. They should NOT be a bunch of random answers to a poll. Seeing as this falls into that particular category, this thread is now CLOSED.

f

Problem with enlarging images

Please remember to search the forum before creating new threads. The Admins have been notified, so hopefully things'll get fixed soon.

I don't usually stay at cons for more than a day, but most of the tips here I would agree with.

Yes, definitely pack your own food... saves you money (that you can spend on more important things... XD)

If you're going to be there early, bring something to keep you occupied/pass the time. Card games are always a hit and you can always ask surrounding people in line to join in. (I might suggest Fluxx) Get to pass time and meet some new people. :)

Dealer's Rooms: Beware of bootleg!

If you are going to cosplay, check out the site/con forum and see if there will be any gatherings for that particular series. I don't cosplay, but my cousin does and he's met a lot of really great people and had a lot of fun with the gatherings.

And yes... I also agree with sho about unattractive cosplayers... ^_^'

But number one rule is to have fun and keep an open eye out! You might get to see some random stuff. ;) One year I saw a bunch of Naruto cosplayers duct taping a Rock Lee cosplayer to one of the support beams at the convention center (all in good fun!). HIGHLY amusing.

Quote by forum guidelines+Favorites and versus threads
As these threads seldom generate meaningful discussion and are often duplicates of existing threads, please refrain from creating threads asking for favorite characters, series, or games as well as threads comparing individual characters, series, or games.

f

My parents aren't really into anime... My dad hates anything with subtitles, but my mom seemed mildly interested in Kenshin...

Her real addiction came in the form of the GTO live-action dorama. She was watching the episodes on my computer. I was so tired so I said "After this episode can I go to sleep?" and she just kept saying "Next episode!"... oh man... didn't get to sleep til around 4 a.m... @_@

f

Please note that superlatives threads are HIGHLY discouraged because most often than not they are repeats of existing threads and don't foster much discussion (which is the point of forum threads in the first place.)

Members, please state your reasons WHY you believe the anime should be #1 or else this thread will be closed.

f

I had all 4 of mine taken out at once. X-O

Though truth be told it wasn't terribly horrible. Got knocked out and didn't wake up til it was done. Pain was very minimal (yay for Vicodin!) as well as swelling because my doctor gave me this nifty head wrap thing that had pockets for ice. ;) Best thing about it was the food... overcooked zucchini and applesauce diet? I think I lost a few pounds, which was definitely a perk. ;) :D

@shoujoboy: As the daughter of a dental hygienist, it is recommended to get your wisdom teeth taken out if they're growing in crooked because it could cause crowding of your teeth later on down the road. (And it's more difficult to take them out once they've grown into the bone...) ;)

f

In order to keep this thread open, members please also state WHY such-and-such is your favorite character.

f

It's that special time of the month!

Please send in your votes to me via PM. Remember, one vote for monochrome and one vote for colored! You've got a week starting from tomorrow (ooo, extra day!).

The next display is also open! So send in your new entries to MapleRose (or just post them in the guestbook...). Let's try and get more entries for monochrome this month!

Good luck to all the participants!

f

What can I say? I like a little of everything, but have a special fondness for shoujo (romance) and action... as long as it has a decent storyline. ;)

One of the best horror manga I've read in quite some time is Uzumaki by Junji Ito. While the overall plot of the manga isn't terribly scary, the images are what stick in your mind and definitely make you shudder. The same is true for the other 2 volume work by Ito entitled Gyo. While not NEARLY as satisfying as Uzumaki, Gyo is also the same type of story except with more of a sci-fi component.

I would definitely recommend Ghost Hunt, though I haven't yet read the manga. The anime was quite excellent though. (If you like horror, stick around for "The Blood-Soaked Labyrinth".)

f

Oh yes... there are quite a number of fans in my area. Living in the same state and type of area as Invictus21-- if there are kids around, there are almost guaranteed to be anime fans around. Also living in an area where there is a high asian population doesn't hurt much either. ;)

f

Welcome to the MT family (and the Anime world!) OceansofSand! Always a pleasure to meet a new member!

Let's see, blood, bullets, and death?

I would suggest Blood+ (not so much bullets, as sword slashing), Basilisk, Cowboy Bebop, and like Splorg suggested, Evangelion...argh, this is hard! I tend to read violent manga more than watch violent anime... ^_^'

I haven't personally watched it, but I heard Hellsing has a lot of the three things you're looking for as well. ^_^'
